Welcome to Central Islip Public Schools

The mission of the Central Islip Public Schools is to enable all students to fulfill their potential and become responsible, contributing adults able to thrive in a culturally diverse, changing world. In partnership with the entire community, we will provide a quality, educational experience that offers equitable learning opportunities in a safe environment. We will link home, school, and community to ensure a positive, supportive education that fosters student excellence and success.

CarrMESSAGE FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS:

Welcome to the Central Islip School District. We are a culturally-diverse public school district comprised of one high school (grades 9-12), two middle schools (grades 6-8), four elementary schools (grades 1-5) and an early childhood center (kindergarten and pre-kindergarten). With an estimated enrollment of 7,300 students district-wide, our goal in Central Islip School District is for every student to achieve to his or her maximum potential.    We, in Central Islip, are proud of our school district’s longstanding tradition of exemplary accomplishments and award-winning programs. Our distinguished Music and Athletic Departments have, in recent years, attained local, state and national awards and recognitions. Legal Eagles and Robotics students and their teachers have achieved highly competitive and prestigious honors and recognitions.
These levels of recognition speak to the partnership between our schools and community working together to provide the best educational experiences for our students to succeed and become contributing individuals to our society. Our Board of Education, administration, teachers and support staff work to provide exemplary role models from which our students can learn. Our community’s consistent support of our budget provide this district with the continuing ability to offer our children an array of opportunities in cutting edge technology, instruction, academics, athletics and the arts. The implementation of four academies in our two middle schools provides paths from which students can choose as they prepare to advance their studies when they enter high school.
Please be involved in our children’s education while we work together to raise our children to become successful and motivated in achieving their goals and endeavors.

Respectfully,
Craig G. Carr, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools
