Students, faculty, staff and special guests entertained a standing room only audience at Mulligan Middle School with their salute to Black History Month and their specially-prepared presentations of song, dance narration and recitation. Performances were honorably presented as the Mulligan Middle School Family and Central Islip Community came together to celebrate the contributions of people of African descent. It was noted that the father of Black History Month is Carter G. Woodson who chose February to celebrate Black History to honor the birth months of Frederick Douglass and President Abraham Lincoln. Mulligan Middle School Principal Dr. Tracy Hudson acknowledged participants of the program as well as the numerous volunteers who made this special presentation the huge success that it became.
