The Central Islip School District's Technology Committee met on January 22 to address supporting massive changes in technology relating to the recent District restructuring, while maintaining state-of-the-art hardware and network stability in concert with the new security cameras, doors and other security upgrades which reside and communicate over the District's network and switches. The Technology Committee presents an opportunity for the Director to inform the Board of Education, the Administration and the Community of recent projects. Looking ahead to the Smart Schools Bond Act, (SSBA) initiative, the focus will zero in on classroom technology and the replacement of aging SmartBoards, as well as phasing out older classroom/SmartBoard computers with newer ones to meet the higher demand on processors, RAM and hard drive space while maintaining community friendly budget.
