 It was a picture perfect evening as the Central Islip High School Class of 2019 celebrated their graduation ceremony on June 21. Marching onto the football field to the strains of Pomp & Circumstance performed by the Central Islip High School Wind Ensemble under the direction of Music Teacher Steve Muller, the Class of 2019 was escorted by members of the Board of Education, Administration, Faculty and Staff. Families and friends of the graduates filled the stadium bleachers to cheer for their loved ones as they begin a new chapter in their lives. Many students will be entering colleges, universities and trade schools of their choices, some have chosen to enter various branches of the military to serve the United States of America, while others have chosen career paths. High School Seniors Briana Mendoza and Ani Dumebi Amene sang the National Anthem which was followed by Central Islip High School Principal Brett MacMonigle's address to the seniors. School Board President Norman A. Wagner delivered a compelling message to the graduates followed by Salutatorian Andrea Cano's thoughtful speech to her peers. Superintendent of Schools Dr. Howard M. Koenig offered warm greetings and his message to the Class of 2019. The Central Islip High School Concert Choir sang a musical interlude consisting of two special selections from their repertoire under the direction of Mr. John Anthony. Class of 2019 Valedictorian Tatiana Granados delivered her special message to her peers, then the members of the Class of 2019 were presented to receive their diplomas. Also attending were School Board Vice President Michele Harriott, School Board Members Fred Philips, Dan Devine, William G. Softy, Glenn C. Mitchell, Jim Musumeci, the Alumni Committee and Central Islip High School Alumni from the Classes of 2009, 1999, 1989, 1979 and 1969. The Central Islip Board of Education, Administration, Faculty, Staff and Community extend their congratulations to the Central Islip High School Class of 2019!
