Mayor Allan M. Dorman noted that 2019 is the 14th year in which the village has "adopted" the only public school located within Islandia where this year 275 pumpkins of all sizes were delivered to the school and scattered throughout the field for picking by kindergarten and first grade students. Superintendent of Schools Dr. Howard M, Koenig, who joined the students for their pumpkin picking activity and Morrow Elementary School Principal Dr. Neema Coker, Assistant Principal Mariana Gil and their faculty and staff thanked the village for their continued generosity and maintaining a tradition that continues to bring an abundance of joy to youngsters.
