Dear Parents and Guardians,                                                       July 1, 2020
I hope you and your families are enjoying a nice summer and staying safe. I am very proud to be your Superintendent of Schools. I am looking forward to working with your children's teachers to ensure our School District offers the best educational programs in the safest and most enriching learning environment. We are beginning the 2020-2021 School Year along a pathway to success. I want to thank the Central Islip Community for overwhelmingly supporting the Budget, which allows a continuum of our balanced and competitive educational programs.

As I assume my new duties as Superintendent, a significant part of my responsibilities will include keeping all of us connected throughout the school year and over the summer. I would be remiss if I did not thank you for doing an excellent job working with your children's teachers to ensure that your children continued their school studies during the COVID-19 pandemic. This has been a very trying time for all of us, and as a team, we will get through this together.

Our Grab & Go Program will continue from July 1 through the end of summer. You will be kept apprised of the Grab & Go meal plan schedule once plans have been solidified and finalized.

The Board of Education and Administration are also in the process of making plans to re-open schools. I want to assure you once these plans for re-entry have been completed, you will be notified with the details.

In the meantime, I wish you a very happy summer - and remember to wear masks and practice social distancing protocols, so we all remain safe.

 Ms. Sharon A. Dungee

Superintendent of Schools
