|Board President’s Message
to the Central Islip Union Free School District.
On behalf of the Board of Education, Administration,
Faculty and Staff, I would like to welcome you to the 2016-2017 School Year.
This academic year is filled with anticipation and
promise as your children continue their educational journey. From our littlest
learners to our high school seniors, every student is afforded the opportunity
to achieve his or her personal best as they engage in a positive educational
experience. School safety and providing a well-rounded quality education in an
enriching environment in the classrooms, on school stages, and across athletic
fields remain the top priority of the Central Islip School District.
A number of capital projects throughout the District
are underway as we continue to invest in our schools. Renovations and upgrades
to the student cafeteria and main auditorium at Central Islip High School are
nearing completion. You will be kept apprised as these projects evolve.
The relationship between our schools, community,
businesses and elected officials is truly a partnership that puts our schools
on a pathway to success for our students to follow. Our collective efforts
continue to advance a scholastic agenda that provides our educators with the
tools and resources they need to teach your children.
Be involved in your children’s school activities and
feel welcome to attend Board of Education meetings. A schedule of Board of
Education meetings and the wide array of school-related events and concerts are
listed in the District Calendar as well as on the District Web Site. The
Calendar and District Web Site contain important school-related information
which you are encouraged to read.
I wish you all the best as together we embark upon the
new school year.
