Bilingual Science Students Explore Earth's Treasures at Museum Visit
English Language Learner students from Bilingual Science classes visited the Museum of Natural History to learn about earth's fossilized treasures. Led by bilingual Earth Science teacher Mrs. Villatoro, along with bilingual Biology teachers Ms. Sorto and Ms. Munguia, students engaged in hands on learning experiences at the museum. They conducted a lab activity to analyze the impact of climate change, formation of Earth, methods of data collection and the potential for life beyond our planet. Students explored the concept of the 'Goldilocks Zone' in our solar system and its implications for future space exploration. They delved into the origins of life, evolution of beneficial and non-beneficial traits in various species, diversity of species on earth, and the evolutionary history of Hominins (humans, extinct human species, and our immediate ancestors). Students visited notable exhibits including the Hall of Gems & Minerals, Hall of Vertibrate Origins, Hall of Biodiversity, and the Rose Center for Earth and Space.
